The Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority filed a suit for a theft of $1.2 million from their Automatic Teller Machine. The money was said to be robbed off from the Living Sky Casino in Swift Current and the Bear Claw Casino near Carlyle.
The Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority filed a law suit versus their companies, the ATM companies, and 2 banks transacting with the Authority. Notably, the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority manages nearly 6 casinos for the First Nations aboriginal people.
The sooner the theft was reported the Gaming Authority required the ATM company to deposit the money to the bank's account. however, the company stated that they cannot do it and they never did it either. They stated that they were not responsible to be doing it.
The police were intimated of the matter and investigation proceeds were on. The Gaming Authority provided with a list of defendants to the jury via a lawsuit. The suit required the jury to process orders to freeze the properties of the defendants.
Alain Germain was reportedly the top suspect. The rest of the defendants as filed in the lawsuit were Shelley Bear, Armand Pinel, Cash is King ATM Ltd, King Cash ATM Ltd, King Cash, Canadian First Nations ATM Services Inc., T.N.S. Smart Network Inc., NRT Technology Corp., Peace Hills Trust Co. and The Royal Bank of Canada.
Alain Germain was the former director and is a stake holder of the Canadian First Nations ATM services.
He admitted in an investigation his complete responsibility over the theft.
"I went on the system, changed SIGA's account to Cash is King account, and two or three days later put their name back", stated Alain Germain. He also added "Shelley Bear has nothing to do with this, and I'll take the blame."
"The money can't be returned. I don't have it, It started over five years ago." was all Germain had to say.
