The Parliament of Jamaica is looking forth to think about legalizing casinos in the Island. A couple of investors have expressed their interest in establishing casinos in the Island.
The Jamaican government is trying to make way for the requirement. They are to consider the pros and cons of legalizing the casinos in the island regardless of the economic crisis.
With the Caribbean already being a tourist destination, Harry Frenzely remarked "Casinos in Jamaica makes sense."
If casinos were legalized in the Caribbean Island, they will likely be able to compete with the Bahamas to make their gambling dollars. The tourism industry of the island will develop further and the small businesses in the region will also mutually benefit.
About 200 slot machines is the range of gambling in the Caribbean until far. Several slot machines across the many hotels in the Caribbean are all the gambling that is available there. Gambling enthusiasts state that this is not sufficient to keep the show going for a tourist destination to eventually differentiate it as a choice from the neighboring islands.
Montego Bay and Trelawny are the two major companies who are eyeing on the options of investing in the gambling business in the Caribbean. The beginning bids are to start from 2000 rooms hotels with the minimum investment being $1.5 billion.
Though there are several other gaming companies bidding on the deals, they are mainly spread across to Macau, Malaysia and Singapore and Jamaica was forgotten. The sudden interest in the tourist venues is likely expected to draw more interest from gambling entrepreneurs.
